WIP & Gratitudes

020807wip

It's Friday again, my most favorite day of the week.  I know I've said this before, but the thing I like best about Fridays is the anticipation of the weekend ahead, a weekend filled with endless possibility.  Will I clean my house?  Will we go out to eat?  Will I have time to sew?  Will I get the chance to sleep in?  Who knows - all of that or none of it may happen!  No matter what happens, I know that I'll get the chance to just be.
One thing I do hope for is some sewing time.  That picture above is my current WIP.  Never mind that I have quite a few projects that I should be working on, this is what I came up with yesterday.  It all started with spotting a cute bag in Target.  I liked the idea of the bag, but not the size, the shape, or the proportions.  So I played around and came up with my own pattern.  I think this is going to be too small, but I can always enlarge it, this is only my first run.  When I get these ideas I get kind of obsessed with them.  This is all I thought about all day long!  After cutting out the bag I decided that I needed to do some tweaking, so it is definitely still a work-in-progress.  Hopefully by the end of the weekend I'll have it all figured out.
Besides being grateful that today is my favorite day, here are a few more things that I am grateful for:
  • the March issue of Country Living, the women entrepreneurs issue, featuring "Idea Notebook" on the back
  • lunch with friends
  • my body's desire for healthy foods
  • more weight loss (10 lbs as of this morning)
  • pretty fabric
  • sunshine and warmer weather
  • that this week's Top Design was better than last week
  • my blogging buddies (thanks for the Valentine card Elizabeth!)

Happy Weekend!

Congrats on the weight loss!!!! I can't wait to see your latest bag creation!

10 lbs...you go! and i love the fabric you chose for your bag - can't wait to see it.

Oh, congrats on the loss! That sounds funny...but you know what I mean. and cant wait to check out some of the projects you have listed in your sidebar. Blessings!

I've been reading that Country Living issue for a week now! I just keep going back over and over and over, every little story! I love it!

Congratulations on the weight loss! That's pretty major! XO

I can't wait to see your bag. I get all obsessive, too, when an idea is forming in my head. Sewing and figuring things out consumes all my thoughts. Show pictures soon!

The chance just to be -- well said. That's one of my favorite things about the weekends too. I love the optimism inherent in asking "will I clean my house?" Kind of like one is hoping to sleep-clean and wake up to a nice surprise. Yay -- clean house!

Love your blog!

can't wait to see the finished bag! i know i will have some sewing time tonight, but i just can't decide what to make?! too many things on my imagination right now i guess! have a great weekend babe!

I've been watching Top Design too! Love your list.. weight loss is always a plus! Can't wait to see your finished design on the bag.. still so jealous that you can just create your own pattern!

Wow! 10 lbs! I think I found it. :( Have a great weekend.

I cannot wait to see the bag. I have my fabric all in one container.. just waiting to be devoured into purses... but my brain ha snot dreamed up or seen the perfect design yet.... alas, lonely material : )

I know what you mean about weekends. It is like this feel good/endorphine high of no matter what.. it is my time, if we do not have to rush somewhere, well, we are not going to. We have a birthday party to go to and then maybe some clothes shopping not sure. I am going to go by Hancocks today because they have a new magazine out for girls clothes to make and it looked pretty cute in the flyer. Going to have to go check it out.

You have a good one no matter what you do.

10 pounds!! That is so, so wonderful. Good for you Beki!

whoo hoo on the 10 pounds GONE!! i hope to get some sewing time in too. looking forward to seeing your bag on monday! (right?)

congrats on the weight loss. Hope this weekend gives you time to feel fabulous and attack that sewing. Therefore, I wish you electricity too so that you don't have a repeat of last weekend!

Love love love the weekends. It's already Sat. morning here and I can't wait to get some sewing done. Looking forward to seeing your bag...and congrats on the weight loss.

Can't wait to see what you come up with for the bag. The fabric looks so pretty.

I like the way your mind thinks in regards to the weekend. Things you might or might not do!

Congratulations on the weight loss. You might just inspire me to jump on the weight loss band wagon!

I absolutely love that fabric. It reminds of ... long story short, a chair I once knew.
And yes, most certainly congratulations on the weight loss!I am on that wagon as well.
