so much to do...

New_fabric

Feel free to move on to the next blog, this is just one of my ramblings about all that I'd like to accomplish on the crafty front in the near future.  **pictured above are the new fabrics I recently purchased from Sew Mama Sew.

In Stitches, March.  I am the suckiest participant ever.  I've been proudly displaying that banner over there in my sidebar for almost three months now, but have yet to make one single thing.  Nothing.  Yeah, I suck.  I have 3 days to make this one right.  I can do it!

Tie One On, March/April.  Another stitch along I've been neglecting.  I haven't made an apron in a year.  A whole freakin' year!  I have my apron designed and my fabric & rick rack bought. Thank goodness I have all of next month to finish this one up.  This one is moving to the bottom of the list.

Fat Quarter challenge.  Something else I'm sucking at.  I have some ideas floating around.  I think I'll tackle this one this week, or next.  I hope my kids feel like going to bed on time.

Easter stuff.  I have high hopes of making Alex a pair of shorts and Lily a dress or skirt.  I *think* I can swing this one.  I already have the pattern for Alex's shorts cut out, and if I go with a skirt for Lily, that shouldn't be a problem.  I'll save this for the Friday before Easter.  Nothing like waiting until the last minute!

Two more custom orders.  Oh yeah, I forgot about those.  I'll fit that in somewhere, I think.

Okay, I think that covers it.  Now I need to get busy!!

Comments

oh yeah... um. tv has been very interesting lately.

ahem.

You are not the only one sucking at things you agreed to participate in. I still have yet to make anything for In Stitches as well...the bag though is looking pretty intimidating. Maybe next month?

oh my. are you feeling overwhelmed? i certainly would feel that way.

i've been wanting to do the AB sew-along, too, and haven't. so i guess that makes me a sucky participant right along with you :-)

ok - i promise i will get the skirt tutorial up soon because it won't take you longer than 2 hours to make lily that skirt. you need about 1 yard of your main fabric and 1/2 to 3/4 yd for the contrast. get it ready....

There's never a lack of projects to do, is there! I am pretty sucky too - I have only done one Stitches project. (and it's kind of cheating cause I needed it for a gift anyway)
I really wanted to do the bedside organizer last month but.... well, there's always April!! ; )

Its nice to know that I am not the only one who has a tendancy to suck!

BTW I love your blog and don't think you suck at all-quite talented actually.

Remember that you really don't have to get everything done. Do the things that make you happiest first.

It's a hobby...enjoy it...love your fabrics BTW...

Give yourself a break! (As I'm telling you that I'm telling myself too as I have not been able to do much lately). By the way, as another Typepad user, how did you get the InStitches banner on your sidebar? I have followed Typepad instructions but can't seem to make it happen.

You can do it all! Don't be modest! I see all the awesome stuff you get done by checking this blog! I can't tell you the last time I accomplished more than making dinner and doing some laundry! Actually, the last thing was making 6 brooches for a friend who ordered them from me and gave me 3 weeks to get them done! Sad. I'm just getting the last stiches in them later today! Don't feel bad- you get more done than most crafty moms I know! Have a great day!!

oh girlfriend i see some fabric that would look so good as a skirt for moi!!!!

I love your ramblings by the way. I think now that you have put into persepective what needs done, it will be done, with no stress! Have fun with your projects.

beautiful fabrics! glad to know a fellow stitcher that consistently has super high hopes for herself ;)

whew girlie! sounds like you will be suoer busy! my machine has been crying in the corner from neglect. i should visit it sometime this weekend!

Beautiful fabrics...and I love the baby bib and burp cloth set that you posted about the other day!

you're too funny. I think you are quite productive + enthusiastic! Can't wait to see what you finish next!

Hey, Hey, Hey....

Stop beating yourself up, kiddo! You're good enough, you're smart enough, and - darn it! - people like you!

And seriously, anything else is just the icing on the cake...

xo

A little hard on yourself today!!

Thanks for those links Beki. I hadn't seen Sew Mama Sew before.. love it! Sometimes I think I need to stop reading blogs because I want to buy everything people post about! :)

When you get less busy I'd love to have you do a custom business card holder for me. For our new business cards. :)

Thanks for posting about both Sew Mama Sew and the In Stitches-a-long. The fabric selection at Sew Mama Sew looks gorgeous! And I recently completed the In Stitches bedside organizer, but had no idea the In Stitches-a-long existed. I just posted my photo to the Flickr group. Have a great weekend!

Girl, please! Those challenges are just for fun, right? Nobody will drum us out of the corp for slackin. ;) I just stumbled across that Fat Quarter Challenge the other day. Hopefully there'll be another run next month, because I'd like to give that a shot.

By the way, love how you used the patchwork in your previous post. Sorry I was too lazy to comment separately.

LOL!!! I can sooo relate to this post! I love your honesty. I mean, why do we need to sleep at night?!! 24 hours just doesn't seem like enough time!

Beki, you are such an inspiration. Keep up the good work and do the stuff your heart wants to do first!
