I've been seeing a trend around blogland lately - everyone has been striking it big on the thrift scene.  Me, I never have any luck, until yesterday.  I decided to pop into a local store just because everyone else was finding such great stuff.  I walked out of there with 10 pillowcases, 1 table cloth, 1 sheet, a bag of yo-yo's, a bag of various laces and ribbon, a bag of embroidery hoops, and two pieces of fabric.

Look at all these pretty pillow cases! Yes, that's Holly Hobby peeking out at the right.

That red and blue floral table cloth is screaming to be a skirt, don't you agree?  I think I gasped when I saw that little beauty of ribbon at the bottom right of the photo.  Here's a closer look:

There's about three yards of it.  Yes, it was definitely a score.

an accident waiting to happen

This is how we've been spending our afternoons this week.

Yeah, I'm one of those moms - I probably let them do way too many things that they shouldn't.

 

Would you think less of me if I told you that I let the boy pee in the yard too?

So far, so good - no broken bones or anything.

The only accident happened with Ava, and it didn't involve jumping off a chair.  Poor baby fell off the bed onto the hardwood floors face first.  Ouch!  Thank goodness babies bounce.

I'm sorry.  I've been a bad blogger lately.  One aspect of blogging that I enjoy most is making connections with those of you out there.  I love following your links and reading your blogs.  Honestly, I couldn't do this whole blog thing without you.

My blogging as of late has been very one sided.  I keep putting stuff out there without taking the time to respond to questions and emails.  My in-box right now is FULL!  No, I don't respond to every comment I get, but I do like to check out your blog, especially if I've never been there before, and answer any questions that were asked. 

Maybe it's burn out, maybe it's laziness, I don't know, but I sure don't like it!  I promise to do better, really.

I haven't forgotten about the tutorial for the pleated tote.  I got the pattern worked out and in a proper format for you to print (I hope), now I need to work on writing up instructions and taking some photos.  Michelle, if you're reading, the bag I'll be demonstrating is yours -I hope you like it.

So, don't be surprised if it's a little quiet around here.  I'm trying to catch up after a whirlwind May and we're trying to figure out our summer rhythm at the artsy-crafty house.  Happy Summer!!
