2 years
For the second year in a row I missed my blog anniversary. Am I alone in thinking that the word "blogiversary" is a really stupid word? I could get all mushy about what this blog and all of you mean to me, but I'm not a mushy kind of person, and I've already done that. What I said last year still holds true. Thank you!
To mark this occasion, I'm going to open myself up for questions Ask away, anything you want to know (well, I suppose there are some boundaries, hee hee!). Then, in a few days I'll do a post answering questions and do a drawing for something. I'm not sure what, and I can't promise timeliness, but it will be handmade by moi.
Honestly, I've talked about myself so much I'm sure there isn't much that you already don't know! I'm very interested to see what you come up with. I really do cringe when I go back and read my early blog entries. So much of my early blogging is bad, really bad, with horrible photography - so if you decide to go back to my old archives, you've been warned!!
P.S. All my ripping and re-thinking paid off, I have some good stuff to show you tomorrow!!

Wow, you have been blogging for two whole years now? Well as you know I am fairly new to blogging and so far I have not told much about my self. Maybe some day :) For now I just really post about knitting and sewing, which during summer is a little slower than usual, although I do sit outside with my knitting.
I know you love to make bags and you said on my blog that the yarn I got for my birthday made you want to learn to knit. Ok, well have you seen all the knitted bags out there? If you can learn to knit and purl, the two basic stitches then you can make some beautiful felted bags.
So my question is... when do you start? *giggle*
Happy Blogiversary :)

Happy Blogiversary!!! I just want you to know how much I love reading your blog! Keep it up!

Happy 2 years! Ok, my question is probably specific to me, but it is something that I've been meaning to ask people and since you're offering... Right now I am using blogger. Do you find typepad worth paying to $50 bucks a year? Thanks for all the inspirations... i absolutely LOVE your pleated bag and often will visit your site just to look at it...

Hi, Beki,
I'm a pretty new reader, but a big fan already. Congratulations on 2 years! Can you imagine celebrating 10 years blogging?
That's not my question!
Do you craft with people locally, or is your "craft group" basically everyone online? I'm particularly interested because I grew up in Lafayette.
Last winter my good friend and I committed to getting together every week to sew or do something crafty (okay, sometimes "something shoppy") and it's really upped our crafty productivity and scope.

Happy Blogi- well, whatever you call it. : )
I'd like to know how you met your husband! Tell us the story.
Posted by: rohanknitter | July 16, 2007 at 05:44 PM
I don't love the "blogiversary" word either.
I don't think I have any questions for you right now. Usually if I have a question for you, I email you... ;-)
Happy 2-year-mark-iversary.

what was your #1 most embarrassing moment during your teen years?
Posted by: cristina - string*THEORY | July 16, 2007 at 06:10 PM
congratulations on two years of blogging!
my question: who are a few artists/crafters that have been inspiring you lately?
Posted by: liz elayne | July 16, 2007 at 06:17 PM
Happy 2 years anniversary blogging....comes out kinda awkwardly...but I agree there has to be something a little more poetic than blogiversary. Here's my question-
I'm cheating..this is a famous question, but I like it.
If you could spend the day with anyone living or deceased who would it be?
and I hope you haven't already posted about this.;)
Posted by: Laney | July 16, 2007 at 06:26 PM
Congrats on blogging for two years! I'm so glad to have found you + your blog. You're one of my favorite bloggers to read daily :) Always inspiring, creative + just plain fun.
Thank you!
Posted by: kat | July 16, 2007 at 06:31 PM
congrats, beki!
What did you want to be when you grew up? What do you want to be when you grow up? :)
Posted by: kirsten | July 16, 2007 at 07:00 PM
Happy 2nd Beki!
Hmmm...questions...Well, what, or who, inspired you to start your blog? I think we all fall in love with this blog world with all of its inspiration and incredible support & kindness, but were there one or two specific bloggers you were completely smitten with? (I hope you haven't already answered this in an earlier post. I haven't read all of your old archives...)
And "blogiversary" is kinda a gross word when you think about it!
Posted by: kathryn | July 16, 2007 at 07:01 PM
Many congratulations on 2 years, Beki, that is well worth celebrating.
Posted by: Megan | July 16, 2007 at 07:10 PM
Congrats on the two years! I can't wait to see what you did!
Posted by: Renee Kyweriga | July 16, 2007 at 07:11 PM
I'm trying to think of something I haven't asked you yet in person.
What's your very earliest childhood memory? What really freaked you out and stuck with you to this day, as a child?
Posted by: Renee | July 16, 2007 at 07:55 PM
Hey Beki...Happy Blogiversary!
Just want to know, how the heck do you find the time, with three little ones, to make all those cute bags?!!
You're probably very good at time management, I, on the other hand, need some work!
Posted by: dee | July 16, 2007 at 08:15 PM
congrats on 2 years of blogging!
I don't have a question for you right now, but I am going to go back and read some of your earlier posts...I know I have been warned, and I am glad to know that I am not the only one embarassed by my early posts. :)
Posted by: amandajean | July 16, 2007 at 08:27 PM
Beki - here's a question for you. How do you fit it all in? I don't have small children, but do work full-time, have a housefull of dogs, and a husband and they seem to take up most of my weekday craft time. How do you make time?
Congrats on the blog anniversary. I can't remember how I found you, but I've really enjoyed your blog - g

Hey Beki -- Happy 2 years to your blog! :)
Someone else already asked the question that I was going to ask, which was how did you and your husband meet. So...my next question is this -- how did your marriage proposal take place?
Posted by: Brea | July 16, 2007 at 09:12 PM
I'm going to have to go back and read your early posts as I only discovered you a year ago. So I suppose I could ask something really useless like what is one thing you always keep in your fridge, but I'm going to ask what would you do if you received $500,000 (tax free) and *had* to spent one-half on yourself and give the other half away.
And congrats on two years!
Posted by: Sharon | July 16, 2007 at 09:32 PM
Congratulations on 2 years!!! I can't wait to see what you've been working on.
Posted by: stacy | July 16, 2007 at 09:35 PM
Congrats!
Ok, here's my question...since you mentioned not liking your previous photography, what's the biggest lesson you've learned to taking good photos (I really need to know!).
Posted by: madmommy | July 16, 2007 at 09:44 PM
Congrats on two years!! I'm somewhat of a newbie here, but have been blogging myself for three years. I just love it.
Can't really think of a question for you, but wanted to say hi and congrats on two great years...and more to come.
Posted by: Beth | July 16, 2007 at 10:01 PM
oh lordy! two years? good for you and congratulations. wow!
ok - you may have mentioned this before, but what is it you do for your full-time not mommy job? and what was your major in college?
random, i know.
Posted by: erin | July 16, 2007 at 10:11 PM
Two years--nice work! I'll have to go back and admire the bad posts and awful photographs. Everybody starts off that way right?
So, besides the obvious stuff like your wallet and keys, what are three things you must have in your bag when you go out?
Posted by: Jen | July 16, 2007 at 10:49 PM
happy two years! my question...when do you sleep?
Posted by: Cici | July 16, 2007 at 10:59 PM
Two years already!?!
My question: Have you ever thought of venturing off into the realm of sewing your own swimsuits?
Posted by: Laurie | July 16, 2007 at 11:59 PM
I first found out about your blog when you posted on one of the sewing lists (I don't remember which one--I belong to too many), and I've been reading it ever since.
What kind of sewing machine do you have and do you have a serger? Oh, that's two questions...is that okay? :-)
Posted by: Ruth | July 17, 2007 at 12:05 AM
what a wonderful couple of years. keep writing and i'll keep reading. your blog is thoroughly enjoyed.
Posted by: cindy | July 17, 2007 at 01:14 AM
Happy Blogiversary! I'm not crazy about the word either, but it has made it into the Urban Dictionary.
Other than your sewing machine, what is your favorite, couldn't-craft-without-it sewing tool?
Posted by: Christy | July 17, 2007 at 01:35 AM
2 years well well, good for you. I don't even know when I started (I know I used "my space" before I used blogger)
my question: have you always been an artsy-crafty-babe?? I didn't get interested in crafts til I was about 20.
oh yeah, I LOOOOOOOVE reading your blog!!! ;-)
Posted by: Brigitta | July 17, 2007 at 01:39 AM
Happy Anniversary . I enjoy your blog and it is on my list of must see. Your pictures are wonderful and your sewing is fabulous. If we were neighbors your hubby would not like me (because I would be at your house ALL the time ) Please keep it up as it serves as inspiration to me and it helps me in times when I can't sew(which is often with a busy 3 year old and six month old).
Posted by: Evelyn | July 17, 2007 at 04:39 AM
I think the sipping supported the ripping well! :-)
My question: How, exactly, did you get so fabulous?
Posted by: nuttnbunny | July 17, 2007 at 06:52 AM
Happy Anniversary, Beki... you are inspiring! I'm sure you probably have shared this before but I don't know the answer. I've read that you are a working mom. What do you do outside the home?
Posted by: Julie | July 17, 2007 at 07:00 AM
Congrats on 2 years.
Questions huh?
How did you learn how to sew? Did you teach yourself?
I thought of a different question but then I quickly forgot it. hee hee
I just remembered my real question.
Does anyone in your real life know about your blog and do they read it?
Posted by: Lauren | July 17, 2007 at 07:16 AM
I absolutely love reading your blog. I do actually have a few questions that have nothing to do with your sewing!
What kind of camera do you use? Did you take any classes on photography...or how did you improve?
Thanks!
Posted by: Robyn | July 17, 2007 at 07:43 AM
Congratulations!!
What I would like to know is what would you definitely NOT try to sew?! If there is anything ofcourse ;)
Posted by: Mirre | July 17, 2007 at 07:53 AM
Congratulations! I really enjoy your blog and hope you stick around for more.:0)
Posted by: Robyn | July 17, 2007 at 08:38 AM
Happy 2 years! I'm not that inventive to think of a question, but I can't wait to see your answers to some of the ones already asked!!
Posted by: Katie | July 17, 2007 at 09:11 AM
Yea for 2!
Okay, here's a question: how do you approach designing something new? That should be a whole post!
Posted by: laeroport | July 17, 2007 at 09:18 AM
congrats! (i missed my first, then missed my 100th post - i suck at anniversaries :)
Posted by: estea | July 17, 2007 at 09:25 AM
Happy blog anniversary.
I've got a question for you. :)
Do you remember your dreams, and if you do, have you ever been inspired to do or make something because of a dream?
Posted by: Jools | July 17, 2007 at 10:39 AM
Congrats on blogging for 2 years!
I don't think I have any questions, but I did just want to say that I enjoy reading your blog.
Posted by: Chara Michele | July 17, 2007 at 02:02 PM
If you could travel anywhere in the world, where would it be, with whom and why? :)
Happy anniversary my friend. So glad you blog! You've taught me a ton!
Posted by: Kelli | July 17, 2007 at 05:00 PM
My question is this. Have you ever had a stalker (other than me)?
WAIT I Want to change my question. How often do you change your needle (say you were working with just one fabric weight...is that possible?)
Posted by: brit | July 17, 2007 at 06:10 PM
Happy two years Beki!!
Okay I was going to ask what your daytime job is but Erin beat me too it.
So I guess my question to you would be...HOW DO YOU DO IT ALL? Work full-time, have three kids that look happy and healthy, have a happy marriage and manage to creat such beautiful things? Okay I guess that was more then one question. Sorry :o)
Posted by: erin s. | July 17, 2007 at 06:14 PM
I'm not a fan of the word blogiversary either. Happy 2 years of blogging.
No exciting, thought provoking questions. Just what do you like least about blogging?
Posted by: Rachael | July 17, 2007 at 07:06 PM
isn't it amazing how time gets away from you?
Posted by: heidi | July 17, 2007 at 10:05 PM
2 Years! Congratulations! I didn't think I'd have anything to ask, but I just thought of something. How much time do you spend a day blogging? And round up. :o)
Posted by: lindiepindie | July 18, 2007 at 02:04 AM
A totally un-crafty related question and why I'm asking it...
I just got this really cool Nike+ thing to use with my ipod Nano. It tracks my runs with pace, distance, calories burned, etc. I've never really run with music before and I've been racking my brain, stuffing it with all the songs I can think of to get me going.
This leads me to my question. If you wanted to totally jam out (exercise, dance or just at home Risky Business-style) what three (or more if you'd like...) songs would you want to hear? Please bear in mind that my own personal list has everything from The Scissor Sisters, to Paul Simon, to the Spice Girls, so I'm not judgmental in any way. I'm really just getting ideas!;)
Happy Two Years, cute crafty girl!
