thrifty thursday

As usual, my recent thrifting trip did not disappoint!  I tell ya, I'm beginning to fear that my good luck streak will end.  Until it does, I'm going to milk it for all it's worth!!

Pillowcases:

Pillowcases

I like the floral the best.  I thought Lily might like the other (she does).

A curtain panel and some fabric:

Fabric

The curtain fabric is a bit faded, but it's still nice.  I'm sure it would make a great bag lining.  When I saw the tan fabric on the right I immediately thought it would be great as a swing top for Ava.

More linens:

The best part about this is that it's a set - a full flat sheet along with two pillowcases.  I love that soft pink.

I saved the best for last, the pièce de résistance:

Vintage_kids_fabric

Vintage kiddy fabric!!!  It was so fabulously hideous, I couldn't pass it up!  You can't really tell from the photo, but this is a BIG print.  It's even louder in person (the incandescent light softens it a bit).  I have no clue what I'm going to do with this.

I love this little (big) snail, so cute!  And the flowers?  Love them all!!

Okay, you can all be jealous now, hee hee!!

I love that pink sheet set, and I'm voting for a child's apron on that fun kiddie print!

So fun! And here you thought that you were in a dry thrift area. Not so my dear, not so.

I love the kiddy fabric. That snail is so adorable.

Great finds, now what to use first?

What fun stuff!

Oh, I am. I never find good linens like that!

What a super score Beki!!!!! Love the kiddie fabric :)

You are a lucky girl! I'm glad someone is finding some great stuff. Our thrift stores have been so picked over lately.

Thrifty Thursday! I love it! We have 3 places to shop in our small town. Last time I found a bunch of bias tape and zippers for cents! I usually have Thirsty Thursday (wine with my neighbor) I'll be making some serious use out of Thrifty Thursday--Thanks!

Oh what fun finds!!

I have the same kiddy print from a thrift adventure! I turned a little of it (there was a HUGE amount for me) into a throw pillow. I have also seen someone (cant remember who now) take some of it and use it as an appliqué on a t-shirt. Cant wait to see what you come up with to give me more inspiration!

ha! i am a bit green...

Totally jealous - what fab finds! I'm having to resist the urge to give in to Thrifty Thursday as I've already scored twice this week (check it out on my blog)! You can never have too much fabric tho' :) and the louder the better of course.
Dying to see what you make of it.

holy cow, you scored! i love the pink stuff!

I'm loving getting to experience your excellent thrifting karma!

I hope this streak continues unbroken for a good. long. while.

:)

Love the tan fabric! It would definitely be so cute as a top for your little Ava!

great finds, beki, and may your good luck streak be long-lived!!!

Nice job - I never find vintage fabric/linens in good condition. I love the pink flowers, of course!

Oh my! Love the last one! Keep thrifting till your mojo runs out. :)

great finds! I love the last print... beautiful!

Oh, I love the kids fabric! Great finds!

The vintage kiddie fabric is a-dorable!

Oh, I really like the pink floral print and the kiddie set. I think there are great possibilities there - a pillow, cut out some of the characters or flowers for applique, a cute tote bag, make a doll the shape of the girl and then applique the girl onto the doll form.

You really did score some great fabric! I can see you using that snail as inspiration for an appliqué. The pink flower linens, well, I found 2 pillow cases of the same print back in the spring! Kind of weird huh, since I'm sure it's an "older design"--vintage. :)

and jealous i am!! what a haul, lucky lady!.....

Yep definitely jealous!

Awesome! Great fabric is what I love to find most on my thrifty outings! You hit paydirt! Good for you!

Very, very lucky! And the loud kiddy print takes me back to my childhood....very kitsch but in a cute way.

the vintage fabric is adorable...excellent find!

love that kiddie fabric! You are lucky indeed!

Send some of that good luck to Florida! Those fabrics are incredible, especially the kiddy one.

Very jealous - lucky you! I love that last fabric - it really reminds me of some bedding that I had as a child.

Thank you so much for the lovely comment that you left on my blog earlier in the week about the horse embroidery! Really appreciated it. :-)

I just had to join in to say WOW, what great finds!

Beautiful fabric. Lots of vintage looks too.

Beautiful fabrics. Love the vintage looking finds.

Super jealous!! Love the hideous kiddy fabric!!!

Oh. My. Word.

That kid print is hilarious! I love, love it!!!!!!!

(I also love the pink set.)

So great!!! Now Im the one who is jealous. Love that kiddie fabric...oh, what will you make?!?!?!

You've inspired me to go thrifting more often! I never seem to find anything remotely good! Score for you!

shut. up. you are one lucky lucky girl!

They're all awesome!

Wow, you do such a great job at these thrifty shopping expeditions.

They are really great! I love the flowered ones. And the kiddy print one, oh yeah, that's a rare one!

all of the fabric is wonderful. i was amazed to see that you had that last piece of fabric because about a year ago i thrifted a blanket that has that same print. actually just the other day I saw the same print with different colors being used in an old 70's design magazine.

the question now is what to do with all of this wonderful stuff.

love those floral prints!!

i just found a vintage barkcloth. with cowboy GUNS on it. it seemed way to violent for my sons' room.
I was bummed.
