back at it
I'm still in love with my buttons, only now I'm combining them with wool felt. Ahh, can you stand it? I can't stop myself, really. I want to cut and cut, and sew and sew. This stuff is so freakin' addictive! I'm sure some of these will make it to the shop, but most of them will be toppers on gifts. Won't they be pretty on a wrapped package? A gift on a gift.
With this batch I did a little more digging in my "good" button jar, which consists mostly of vintage buttons. I love to think about what garment these buttons once adorned, and who they belonged to. It's easy to get lost in that.
Look at this one, an old Girl Scout button, I believe. It's been a while since I was a Brownie, but I'm pretty sure I recognize that emblem. I tried looking it up on the Girl Scout website, but everything has changed. (Lori, am I right?) So cool!

You are sooooo...creative. I just love your blog. I think they would look "GREAT" on a gift.

I love your button flowers and the combination with felt is great. I've only been blogging a short while but am slowly getting the hang of it.

Oh my gosh. I can't stand it - it's all so darned cute. I want to stop printing photo orders and go play with felt and buttons. So not fair!

Yup, that's a Girl Scout trefoil. I'd know it anywhere! (I was a Girl Scout for 4 years.) If I had to guess, it looks like '30s-'40s era.

love the gift on a gift idea. I think the wool felt + button combination could be dangerous, but oh so fun.

so cute, and so great to see someone not getting bogged down by the holiday-gift-making frenzy. Obviously you are on a roll!

Lovely! Where do you get your buttons?

Very nice, Beki. A perfect little gift topper, indeed!

Beki - I'm not Lori, but that most certainly is a Girl Scout symbol on a button. I wouldn't have a clue what era of clothing that button would have come off, would be interesting to find.
Where to do you get wool felt? Those will make wonderful toppers for holiday gifts. Makes me want to bump up my own wrapping. g

Hey, I was a Brownie, too! And, yes, I'm pretty sure that is a Girl Scout symbol. Also, your button toppers are so Martha, but better cuz it's Beki! :0) I love them!

I just bought my first pieces of wool felt and can't wait to start playing with them! I have made present toppers using regular felt before - I saw them on Creative Juice. :) Actually, they can be present toppers or decorate bags...I used them to decorate plain gift bags. Have fun!

Those are so cute Beki!
I've done them with an alligator clip on the back for little girl's hair clippies.
And I drooled over your picture with all the buttons...

Gasp! I want your button collection. Me, I'm just scrounging around the house searching for some, and mostly coming up with lint. Love the felt colors in contrast with the buttons.

Great gift toppers. Wool and buttons, you can't go wrong. And yes, that's a girl scout button.
