this-n-that
First off, thank goodness it's Friday! And not just any Friday, but the Friday before a 3 day weekend. And not just any 3 day weekend, but one only I have. The Mr. and the kiddos don't have the day off. I suppose I could keep the 2 littlest ones home with me, but I'd rather not. I have things to do! I will pick them up early, and will hopefully already have dinner prepared so that we can enjoy an uneventful afternoon together. If they stayed home with me it wouldn't be so, I know it.
With my day off, I plan to work on some items for the shop. It was a goal of mine to have it stocked for the holiday season, but life has gotten in the way. I plan to include some more bags like this, more like this, and some new designs.
In other news, my kids are no longer Lego virgins. While out in CA, I got the chance to visit a Lego store. Oh my, it's hard to resist those things, isn't it? My kids were thrilled with them. With a little guidance, Lily made that house complete with a fence, benches in the front and a palm tree. It's so nice to find something that more than one kid will play with. I think I know something that Santa is bringing this year...
Do you know what this is? It's a picture of a ginormous Lego giraffe butt. See, there's the tail on the upper right...Judi dared me to take a picture of it, so I did, which brings me to my next random bit of info. Sweet little Ava, who barely says 5 words (she's more of a screamer than a talker) can now say "poop poop". When she says this, she pokes out her little diapered bottom out then proceeds to make fart noises. What a little lady I have. I'm sure I can blame Alex for this newly acquired skill. Let's hope she doesn't do it in the church nursery!
Y'all have a great weekend!!
**Be sure to check out my quick, easy gift tutorial on Sunday Nov. 11th - it'll be posted here and at Cotton Spice blog.

oooh yes, i LOVE the holidays i get but almost no one else does (columbus day, anyone?!).

Oh, welcome to the land of Lego. Soon you'll be like the rest of us and checking the floor for every last piece before you vacuum.
My whole family is off on Monday, so no alone time for me. But I'll have it for the rest of the week, so I'll welcome the togetherness.
Can't wait to see your bags.

We have a ton of legos in our house. I just combined MOST of them into a giant Rubbermaid storage container. Most of them.
Have a good three-dayer. I hope you get lots accomplished.

We have a family rule in my house: "Bathroom talk is allowed only in the bathroom." If they want to make fart noises to crack each other up or sing little songs about going poop - they are free to do it in the bathroom. The fascination with excrement never wears off, but at least they aren't chanting "pee pee poo poo" in the grocery store! :)

I love the Lego creations; I'm always scared to buy Legos b/c I think they'll end up all over the house! Maybe I should give it a go. Three day weekend, here we come!

Love the lego's it's such a classic toy that never goes out of style. I think my youngest who's four is going to get some truck related legos from santa. Can't wait to see your new bags, I'm a bag maker and lover among other sewn items too. My two oldest have a half day today and my son gets done with preschool at 11:20 so my free time is going to end quick. Plus hubby's away. ugh. Three day weekend as a solo parent yike. Hope the weather is nice.I do however get to meet Debbie Field of Granola Girl designs so that's something to keep me sane.

duplos are really fun too (for little ava). even my oldest at 11 still plays with those.
visiting the lego store in MN was one of our favorite things during our summer vacation. it's a sickness i tell you! :)

My daughter, Malayna, loves Legos, too (and make fart noises, unfortunately)! I can remember playing with Legos as a kid.

We're a lego family too, love it. Unfortunately they can be lethal on wooden floors....!!!

Yep it's all about Lego and poop/farts here too. My sweet little 2.5 year old daughter morphed into someone whose life revolves around all things toilet related, and I am glad I now have a bagless vacuum. Makes rescuing those small bits of Lego much easier.

Legos are the best (until you step on a big lego-copter with the soft part of your foot).
I happen to think "poop poop" is a very good thing for a diapered one to know! And unfortunately, I think fart noises are funny (even though my mother trained me to know better!). Giraffe butts are funny too. :)

We are headed to Disney World on Monday and will be visiting the gigantic Lego store there as well! Legos are a great toy that everyone can get involved in, my husband and son are currently building dinosaurs. :)
