quilt love
With tomorrow kicking off Quilting Month and all the quilt love, quilt planning, and quilt making that's been popping up in blog land lately, I've decided that it's time I finished this quilt. I've talked about it before, it was made by my Maw-maw for my mom, out of clothes that belonged to my mom and my aunt. All I have to do is finish the hand quilting, which I think I can manage. This will be the perfect project to work on in the evenings when I'm watching TV.
Look at all these wonderful old prints! It's neat to think that these used to be my mom's dresses when she was a little girl.
And those colors, wow, they're sure to put a smile on my face!

How sweet is that? That will be a wonderful quilt to snuggle under when its done.
My two children are teenagers now, but I have been in the process of saving up their stuff to put into a quilt later on. Mostly t-shirts of where we've been on vacation or their fave shirt. So, it will be a tshirt quilt when I am done with it. It will be a gift to send them off to college with.
Enjoy the hand quilting. I am sure it's relaxing. I have yet to learn how to do that.

Your quilt is so beautiful.
I have one that my grandmother started and my mother finished, but the fabric is so old that it is fraying in spots so I just display it.

It's beautiful -- even more so for the story behind it. The handquilting is my downfall though. I can't seem to finish my own handquilted quilt...
