gratitude friday

Is it Friday already? How did that happen? Wait, where did January go? Honestly, I'm glad to be done with January. Yes, it was filled with lots of days off from work, which was nice, but it was also filled sickness and lots of wet, cold, gray days. Yuck! The photo above is one of my favorites this week because it is filled with sunshine, lots of warm, glorious sunshine. I'm such a wimp, I need those precious rays. I'm so happy to live in a place with mild winters and an occasional sunny warm day in January. I don't think I could survive a "real" winter.
I'm pretty sure my decision to make this week a good one worked. The mind is so powerful, isn't it? Because I was determined to be more positive this week I found color and joy in my everyday life. It's all there if you look for it, keep your eyes open!
This week I am grateful for:
- all your sweet comments on my posts (especially those of you who said I looked thin *big grin*)! I'm really sorry that I can't respond to them all, but I promise that I read ans appreciate each and every one of them.
- feeling like my old self again. The cough is still lingering a bit, but overall I feel great.
- fun lunches with friends
- my dishwasher breaking (it sucked and I really wanted a new one)
- each and every hug and kiss from my 3 fabulous kiddos
- a friend bringing Lily to dance class, saving me a trip
- the return of LOST
- a sunny day in the middle of the week
This weekend I plan to do as little as possible, but with a dirty house, laundry to fold, and 3 birthday party invitations, I have a feeling I'll be doing a lot more than I'd like!! Have a great weekend!

Positive attitudes are a wonderful thing, aren't they? I too am all about that sunshine - does wonders for my outlook. Happy weekend!

beki,
I am with you on being thankful for living where we have mild winters. I really don't think I would survive somewhere where the temperature regularly stayed below 32 degrees.
And I am with you on the return of LOST, my favorite show and after waiting almost 9 months, I am SO excited! Best show ever!!!!

Beki - I've been on the same theme this week - finding beauty in the simple things. Mine was geared more on the beauty of nature around me - but you get the idea. Have a great weekend! g

Beki, I just caught up with a week of missed blog reading (life has taken me for quite a spin recently) and the first post I read was your "funk" one. I'm so glad to have made it through to this post, and to hear that you're feeling a bit better. I hope the upcoming week is full of lots of bright moments for you (I'd love a little sunshine myself). And you did look like a skinny mini in your apron shots!
