blank canvas
I have a confession to make - I easily get bored with making the same thing. When the mood strikes me to make something, I know that I have to do it right then, because in a few days I'll lose interest and want to move on to something else. As much as I love making bags, I'm kind of there now with them. After updating the shop, it was time to move on (though I still have a few in the works). I went on to buttons, then to sewing clothes, and now I want to try some applique and embroidery. I must clarify - I have the buttons/jewelry/clothes making all going on at the same time - that's how I work.
I've been having the urge to do some type of little art quilt/wall hanging thingy, therefore, I must strike while the desire is there. Last night I went though my little big scrap basket and put a few things together to get me started. I went ahead and added batting and a backing, and did a little machine quilting to put it all together. I'm thinking I want to do something for the girls, maybe something sister related. I don't have all that worked out yet, but it's a start. I look forward to the hand stitching and seeing my little creation come to life - and the best part is that I can do it on the sofa while watching mindless TV!!

Oh this will be fun, I can't wait to see what it becomes!
I like the dress from the last post, you should make one to match your new cute shoes.

For a spooky moment there I thought I'd written this as it's so much like me!!! I was all bags bags bags for the past two weeks, I've got a head bursting with ideas and all I want to make is little fabric baskets.....until the next big idea strikes and takes over my every waking hour!
Can't wait to see your finished quilt - looking good so far :)

i do the same thing - jump from project to project. this one of yours looks promising - can't wait to see how it comes out!

I think you typified a lot of us! Good luck with the wall hanging, can't wait to see pics. BTW, what is that cute little jar filled with strips of paper in the background of your photos, curious readers want to know?

I love to sew on my machine. Sew. Sew. Sew. I don't like cutting out patterns or laying stuff out. Just give it to me to sew.
I never sit and watch TV on the sofa. Instead I have a TV in my sewing room. But I usually watch old TV shows rented from Netflix. Right now I'm in the last episodes of Northern Exposure - what a great show that was.
I can't believe how much you get done Becky! You're an inspiration.

I get bored as well. I'm usually all over the place with my creations. Best of luck Beki, I'm sure you'll do something beautiful!

ah, birds of a feather and all that....
I am always flitting from one project to the next, I MUST discipline myself to finish even if I get bored! This is a good reason to not take on big projects to often for me! Glad there are others like minded!

i am glad to see so many other people who get bored easily. i thought there was something wrong with me. i like the quilt. i can't wait to see what you decide to embroider!

looks like fun! I'm sure you're ready for some short spells away from the sewing machine. You have a great start there. It's very cute.

I love the new banner!

What kind of glue do you use for your buttons? With the kind I used, you could easily pull the buttons apart after they were dried....which is irritating...because I made a lot of them and they look so cute!
Thanks! Have a good day!

ooh - I love me some mindless TV watching while hand sewing and embroidering. Enjoy!

Your craft ADD sounds like mine! I'm always doing a million projects - and I am still wanting to do more. Can't wait to see what you create on your blank canvas! :)

What a cute idea. I can't wait to see what you put in the center. Love the dress pattern. I gave up sewing clothes when I started quilting but sometimes (usually when I go shopping) I wish I still made my own clothes. Terry

I have craft ADD too. I like to jump from one project to the next so I won't get bored. It doesn't always help and sometimes I get overwhelmed by all the unfinished projects!

i do the same thing, and I love to hear that i am not alone. I have to do it right then, or the mood passes and I lose steam really quickly. I don't like making the same thing too many times either. I put this wierd pressure on myself, and then I am just bored and want to move on to something else.

I'm with you. Especially lately. I've started so many craft projects and not finished them that it's not even funny. I haven't posted any of them on my blog because that means I would have to finish them. LOL! Good for you for posting your WIP's. I bet it's kind of motivating.
Can't wait to see what you come up with!

I get bored too, which is why I wouldn't be able to do the same thing over and over forever. I love the fabrics! Can't wait to see what you put on there.

I soooo hear you! I call it excessively diverted.
Love the new blog banner!

that is so great. I was just thinking of doing the same sort of project....hopefully incorporating my kids hand prints. Making it some kids of display quilt, like a picture frame. You must have a fantastic scrap basket. Those fabrics are really beautiful. I can not wait to see what it turns into.

Lovely little quilt! Can I tell you how much I adore your clock? Is that weird? It reminds me of a Swatch I had in my pre-teens...such great memories. And bangs.

Oh, cute idea for some extra fabric! I hoard all of my scraps... might have to pull some out and try this in the girls rooms! BTW, LOVE the pin cushion! Have a wonderful Good Friday!

Love your desk organizer. I'm the same way. I jump around a hundred times before I start a project, and I hate to make the same thing twice. I've got to change something so it's not just the same. I feel like I'm missing something if I don't try something new on every project! Have a happy Easter!

OOPS-I thought it was a little desk organizer. Either way-I love it!

Cute.
I like branching out to try other projects. I have quite a few in my brain that just need to be materialized.

This is just gorg!! I can't wait to see what you put on it ♥

can't wait to see it finished! love the colors!

I love how prolific you are in so many areas! I'm looking forward to see where this is going, and feeling inspired by your branching out.

So, how was the weekend? Do we get to see this finished despite the Easter celebrations? (Hope yours were fabulous, by the way.)
Posted by: denice | March 24, 2008 at 08:19 AM
I know exactly what you mean. I have to act immediately or I never will!!!
Posted by: chris | March 25, 2008 at 09:13 PM
How bizarre that I wanted to say how similar to me you sound and then read the other comments and found everyone feels the same. The trouble with me is, my brain doesn't even stay long enough on one thing to actual achieve a finished project, my house is full of half way there stuff! Never mind as long as I can enjoy seeing other bloggers carry things out! ;0)
