ready to begin

future quilt

Last week I had some good mail.  The fabrics I chose for my kitchen table quilt arrived.  I have no idea what kind of quilt I'll make, but I do know that I want to use lots of white along with the fabrics.  Maybe border each block in white?  I don't know, I need to do some research.  I'm no quilter, so whatever design I choose will be very simple.

quilt inspiration

When I decided to use the tea towel as my inspiration I was still a little if-y on the colors, but now that I have the fabrics in my hands, I have complete confidence that this will work!  I can see it now...

While I was perusing etsy, I happened to come across these plates, so I bought them.  Won't these look great on the wall?  Yes, I plan to fill the walls with pretty patterned plates like in the March issue of Martha Stewart Living - have you seen it? I can't wait to have my kitchen done!

bags

One last thing - I did a little shop update with my latest bags.  I think I must have been in a bold red/pink/orange mood.  Isn't it funny how that happens?

Oh, Beki, this is good stuff. Your kitchen table quilt is going to look great. That orange and cream print? Love.

Those fabrics are a perfect match, both in color and in spirit. I can't wait to see how it turns out! And I love your bold bags!!

What is the orange fabric in the top photo, 2nd in from the right? I'm piecing together blocks using some Amy Butler fabric and it's a lot of blues and browns and that orange would help set things off.

so much beautiful color!! I love all of it. I'm sure you're very ready for that kitchen to be all done.

oooh, I am so excited to see your kitchen quilt! the fabric that you chose is wonderful.

Wow, Beki, that quilt is going to be so pretty! So what's the gray tiles with the green flower fabric? It's so pretty!

Your kitchen ideas are truly beautiful!! :) I absolutely love them :)

Excited to see your quilt. Love those fabrics! I have been cutting fabric for my quilt for a week now but haven't started to sew it up yet!

Your kitchen is going to look awesome! I hope you'll post pictures of it all when you're done. I am currently revamping mine a bit too. Just in time for Spring I hope.

Your bags are beautiful too. It amazes me how much you accomplish. Do you ever sleep? :)

You picked out some beautiful fabrics, can't wait to see how the quilt turns out. Love the plates and the idea too. I am still waiting on my new Martha Stewart Living to come in, I always get it so late.

Love those fabrics - I can't wait to see what you do for a table quilt (squeel!)

Ohhhh! Lovely combination of colors. Very inspiring. I have been wanting to work with gray and was going back and forth on what to mix it with. I may have found my answer. I look forward to seeing your progress.

Wow, beautiful fabrics and bags, too!! I love that top print in the stack---the flowers with the blue middle... Sigh.

I love your inspiration piece & what I would like to know is what are you going to do with it. Are you going to display it(framed on the wall ( I hope)), or use it as a towel? Inquiring mind want to know!!

I LOVE the fabric. Try looking at the Happy Hour book by Atkinson designs. There's a couple in easy patterns in there that would look good with some white thrown in. Can't wait to see what you come up with.

Oh Beki! Loving all of your fabric. Save some of the leftovers for a few clutches! And give me a heads up before you list them. ;)

I haven't seen that issue yet but really want to now. I want to do a plate thing in my kitchen. I've got pretty high ceilings and feel the need to throw something up there.

Awesome fabrics, Beki! Those colors work well with the dishtowel.

Wow... gorgeous material... you're going to have an awesome quilt when you're done!

I find myself going on certain color jags all the time! I love the new bags, the colors are perfect for springtime. Love the new fabric for your tablecloth too, so vintage-y. Have you seen the simple tablecloth from Last Minute Quilted gifts? It's great, and really shows off each individual fabric.
