spring fever

spring tote

I do believe I have spring fever.  It's causing me to make bags like crazy.  I can't stop thinking about bags in pretty spring fabrics!

spring tote

This is my latest.  I love the splashes of green in this fabric!

You can't really see the pleats (tucks?) with that busy fabric, but they're there.  It was my goal to combine some type of pleat with more of a rectangular tote shape.

This one is nice and roomy, perfect for all my purse essentials plus a few magazines.   Yes, this one is mine.

Happy weekend, friends!  I hope the fever spreads to you, too :o)

Awww, man! I was just going to head to the shop to check it out and hopefully put it in my shopping cart! It's so pretty! Nice work.

I haven't sewed in AGES!!! You're inspiring me though. I think it's time for a few new spring bags of my own.

I love all of yours!

I love the contrast between the floral and the black and white polka dots! I'm definitely in the spring spirit too, although it's still pretty cold where I am. I've been planting seeds and clearing the rubbish out of the garden to make way for a summer filled with flowers!

That bag is so cute! Great job!

What a pretty bag. Oh "Spring Fever" has spread to me already.

Oh Oh Oh! That is SO CUTE!!!!! Are you buying up as much bright pretty fabric as you can..... I know I am! Bring on Spring!

Holly

I love the fabrics in this bag!
do you have any tips for keeping your pleats even? someone told me there is a gadget you can use...but there must be a trick for keeping them perfect. Mine always look just a tiny bit off no matter how careful I am. so now I am afraid of them!

Darling! I'm glad you're finally keeping one for yourself.

hurrah for new spring bags! now I Need one!

I am the same way! Looks awesome, I love that flowers fabric...A+++

i am glad you are keeping it for yourself - it is really cute, beki!

I love the fabric combo - you're good at picking fabrics I wouldn't think go together but you see that they will!

How to you do your bottom corners? Is your pattern a curve with a wedge shape cut out? (If that makes sense...)

gorgeous bag!

Great bag! The pleats give it a lovely shape. I like the stitching on the handles too.

Ooh, very nice! The pleats work great with this bag. I like how they pretty up the tote bag - I always want pretty bags, but need big practical ones - this is the best of both worlds!

love the floral fabric--i've got spring fever, too! if only the sun would come out...

I'll take some of that thing you call 'spring fever!' ;)

I love the black with that fabric! Great combo, and really cute bag!

I love it! Perfect new spring bag!

You're on a roll, baby!

You're killing me with the cute bags. :)

Beautiful bag!!

Lovely...great material too :)

Cute bag Beki. Nothing like some floral fabric to welcome Spring.

I love your bag. You should think about selling the pattern. I think a ton of people would buy it, although none of us could make it as well as you do. That fabric is beautiful.

may i inquire as to where the floral fabric came from? i totally love it! :)

jus surfed in for the first time from stilllifeinyarn, will definitely be back! :)

I know exactly what you mean! I've been having a busy bag making rush with lots of pretty florals and bright colors - it MUST be that spring is nearly here (oh please, it really is nearly isn't it!?) I love your bag, so pretty.

What pretty spring colors... I'm taking out my Easter stuff as we speak!!

What a cute bag! Your bag makes me think I need to make myself a bag...

Another great bag, Beki. You must have one heck of a purse collection at your house!

What a darling bag! It will go with so many outfits!

I LOVE the pleats!!

that's so beautiful, you're so creative, I admire you

Wow this is a beautiful bag. Everytime you make a new one and I call it my favorite you make another that is then my favorite. What an eye you have for choosing fabrics to put together.

Adorable purse as always!

That sure is pretty!

I LOVE your new spring bag!!

I really like this rectangle bag. I am in awe of your talent. I just saw the button flowers too, they are so cute. I am already making Christmas ornaments for this year. Talk to you soon. I need to call you guys for lunch very soon.

I love your bags! Especially this one.Do you ship to the UK? I enjoy reading your blog too.Thanks!Sal;-)

Those bags are just BEAUTIFUL :)

I received my new purse in the mail on Saturday and I'm so pleased with it! The workmanship is excellent, the shipping was more than prompt, and the button flower hibben away in the pocket is lovely. Thanks you so very much! I hope to order again soon!

The above post was from me, not Kristin. Don't know how in the world it appeared under her name!

Cute cute bag Beki! I like the shape and fabric.

I like the fabric, it is very springy (I don't know if the word exists...)

i. love. it. i loooove that floral print. how many purses do you own, anyway?

Nice job, Beki!

any chance of a tutorial on this one? i've been looking to make a bag just like this but am too wary of "trial and error" myself since i have such a limited supply of fabric!

What a beautiful bag! This definately says Spring!
