a sewing machine

My sewing machine and I are getting along swimmingly.  I set her up on my kitchen dining table and go to town.  I have a lot more distractions sewing in the kitchen, but I get a lot more accomplished.  I think it's a fair trade off.

4 bags

Besides my home decor sewing, I did manage to squeeze in some bags (no surprise there).  I finished 4 of them.  To be honest, 3 were partially assembled during the week, so there wasn't a whole lot to do to finish them.

bias trimmed granny

I played around with the granny style again, using one of my thrifted sheets.  It's okay, but I already have a tweaked pattern ready to go for round three.

pleated pockets

I finished those two pleated pocket totes I started earlier in the week.

short & sassy version 2

And, I made a custom order, manipulating my short & sassy pleated bag.  I'm really happy with this one.  I wasn't planning on finishing it in one sitting, but once I got started I couldn't stop.  My customer supplied the fabrics, giving me free reign to come up with what I wanted.  I love customers like that!  Thankfully, she was pleased with the result.

If you're interested, these bags (minus the custom one) are available in the shop.

All very cute! Nice topstitching.

I totally love the spiderweb bag, just my kind of thing!! I once considered having a spiderweb tattoo in my neck. Thankfully I came to my senses before I did so ROFL

Those two fabrics in the third picture make me swoon! So hip and colorful without being over-the-top. Just the kind of thing I LOVE. Great work!

Those bags are adorable! Were you born with those skills? How about I take them for a test drive hehehe I 'll be nice just borrow them for the weekend. :) I love that spiderweb bag, so cute. Great Job!

the bags are all darling, beki!

love what you did with the vintage sheet--the pink bias tape is perfect!

You are amazing!

Very pretty, Beki!

You are so entertaining... Sewing gorgeous bags is like breathing or brushing your teeth, isn't it? You just do it with nary a batted eye, the way the rest of us do our laundry or wipe down the counters after a meal. Amazing, how much you get accomplished. xo And I am in love with that one sheet with the goldish graphic on it. Love it.

I love them all! Your bags are so lovely!

I will never look at thrifted sheets the same way again.

Thanks for the eye opener Beki!!

Keep up the awesome work!!

I really love that thrifted sheet, but dang it, that one's already sold!

I love the granny style. :)

I am completely, madly in love with those button flowers in your header. This is my first visit here, so forgive me, but did you make them?

I LOVE that fabric on the black and white bag. It's so classic! Great job!

That cobweb bag is my favorite . It definitely strikes a cord. Besides I love anything black. Love your other sheet bags too but I have a preference for the cobweb.
