thrifty thursday
I think I need an intervention. I know I already have plenty of thrifted vintage linens collecting dust, but look what I brought home this week. I couldn't resist! One of these days I'll get around to doing something with them. Well, there is something I can do with them right now. Have you heard about Lisa's Summer Skirt Sheet Swap? Go on, check it out. I signed up. Doesn't it sound like fun?
Look at the two pillowcases on top - aren't they fabulous? I think those will be dresses for Ava, if I can part with them...

What wonderful finds!

WHEW! You've been a busy girl! I can't wait to see what you make with these, but where the heck do you find them? Maybe I should gather all of my GoodWill bags and go over there to check things out. on a different note (and post)... how the heck did you figure out how to slipcover wing back chairs! and Have you been to Patina in Mandeville? I was there yesterday and they always have several chairs waiting to be recovered...

A girl after my own heart...I just can't say no. After my recent sort out I realised that I had FAR more than I remembered. They would make such sweet dresses for our littles....better get making!

Hee hee! I just picked some up at a thrift shop yesterday that look very similar to the two bottom ones! They were only .50cents each because I don't think other people realize how cool they are yet! I want to make them into tote bags...
Great finds!

I am just dripping with jealousy. So lovely. I have trouble finding great sheets at my thrift store, so I just drip with envy when I see such delightful yummies. Who needs an intervention? You just need another linen closet! You should see the tablecloths that I have just waiting to be made into something marvelous!

I'll intervene! I had this wonderful plan to make my master bedroom quilt with white cotton and thrifted floral sheets, but I never make it to the thrift store... Oh well, on the plan B!

I am soooo lovin' those, I am always checkin' out the linens, fabric textiles aisles at the resale shops! One of my fav. things to hit first, second is books, then the kids clothes. LOL, it's just another form of the hunter/provider in me I guess!

The sixth one down, white with flowers made me miss my little girl bed. I hope I can find some fun vintage sheets for Amelia's toddler bed.
How do you do everything. I just recently learned that you work full time.
Oh my heck!

can we have too many vintage linens? i just don't think so...
i found two pillowcases and a sheet yesterday...they are so soft and beautiful. i think the sheet just might be the back of my very first quilt...maybe...we shall see...then i would need fabric to match the colors of the sheet...
how the cycle continues.

Beki, here's another thought for those pillowcases. After the rash of sheets into PJ/lounge pants on blogs of late I discovered that a pillowcase is the PERFECT size for PJ bottoms for my daughter (3.5). I cut them out with the hem of the pillowcase as the cuffs and no side seam so inner leg seam, crotch seam, casing at the waist and they were done. Really cute too!

It's so fun to see these - I have some of the same ones - the two top in fact! I turned the pink one into a banner and the yellow one just got cut into some flags too. Unfortunately when I opened the yellow one I found that half of it was full of mildew stains. Bummer - well at least it's an entire sheet, so there's still a lot of it to use. I think I'll stop by the thrift store today and see what I can find!

My weakness is gingham aprons from the 50's. I have at least 50 or more. Is that terrible? I still want everyone I see!

I would love to know where you get those vintage sheets. I've been to the thrift store near Cortana Mall, The Great American Thrift Store. They have a lot of stuff but I haven't seen anything like that. Maybe I just don't have a good eye for things like that.
