2 finished objects

Yep, that's right - TWO finished sweaters.  Two sweaters that I'll actually wear out the house! Please excuse my crappy self portraits in a dirty mirror, but I was too impatient to wait on some help :)

cavern cardigan

This is my cavern cardigan.  I actually finished knitting this months ago, but never got around to sewing on the ties or weaving in the ends until this morning.  I thought it was a little small for me, but the pictures look pretty good.  It is knit using Knit Picks Mainline. I'm pretty pleased with the results.

simple fitted bodice

Next is the simple knitted bodice.  I really love this sweater, even though it is too big - I'll still wear it.  I made it using Knit Picks Andean Silk (I'm a knit picks lover), which feels soooo good. I should have read the reviews of this sweater with that yarn on ravelry first, because a lot of them came out too big.  Next time I'll know.  I tried shrinking it, which helped a little.  It's not so big that I can't wear it, but it would be nice if it fit.

Well friends, it's Friday - Hooray!  My plans for the weekend include more knitting and some sewing - Christmas is near, so I need to get busy.  But for now, I'm off to buy a new pair of jeans.  My fat jeans are snug, and I don't see that getting any better in the next few months.  Hmm, maybe it's not so bad that my sweater came out too big :)  I hope that isn't a self fulfilling prophecy!!!

both your sweaters are beautiful and look great on you! Congrats on a good job!

Super gorgeous!

Beki - love the sweaters. the color on the green - fabulous. And who can go wrong with a brown cardi? that one's super cute.

I'm with you on the fat jeans being snug. I hate to go up a size, but I'm gonna have to! UGH. Happy holidays. g

Looks great! It's so nice to finish projects.

Gorgeous! I love the brown sweater. You sure got the knitting game on quick!

You are really incredible, Beki. I dabbled in knitting, but never made it past scarves! Great work - and beautiful sweaters!

Your Cavern looks great!

Love your sweaters! I was hoping for a finished bag, but with all that addiction . . . the sweaters look great :)

CONRATULATIONS Beki! You did such a great job!

Sheesh! I've been reading along with your knitting-obsessed posts, wishing that a little of that mojo would rub off on me for a gift I need to get working on, but I had no idea you were moving along so fast, doing such beautiful work! You rock - these are awesome.

They're both absolutely lovely. Is there anything you can't do? LOL My mom could knit and she did some wonderful sweaters for me when I was a kid and too young to appreciate the skill. When I see your work, I wish she was still here so I could send her pictures; I know she'd really like your work too.

That cardi is awesome. Just awesome. Your ability to pick up a new skill and run with it blows my mind, girl. Great job!

Woo hoo for you! I'm getting beki-itis...I've got about 4 projects on the needles right now...I hate it when I've got all this stuff hanging over my head! but I got more yarn!

Oh, Beki!

Those are fab.! You've done a great job...I am a touch envious of the knitting thing...don't know how yet! :) (note, the yet)

Can't wait to see what you do next!

Very nice! The brown one of my favorite of the two!

they look great!!! Good work.

NO WAY! You are rockin' those needles baby! I am so IMPRESSED! I love cavern! Damn. I gots some catchin' up to do.

They are beautiful! Keep on knitting, girl!

Very nice! You did good. :)

they looks great on you! noce work! i love them both.

The brown one is my favorite, but they are both nice, especially since you made them yourself.
I bought some yarn to play with yesterday.... I need to get a book as well, since it's new to me.
Thanks for sharing.

Wow! What a fabulous job you did. I tried knitting in my younger days and never got the hang of it. You have come along sooooo well and so quickly! I might have to try again.

Oh Beki, they look fantastic! I can't believe you have two finished sweaters! It's taking me forever to finish anything these days.

they are both great . . . but i really love the brown one! such a cute style!! one of these days i will pick up the needles my mom passed on to me!

Beki....no wonder you are addicted to knitting...your sweaters turned out great and they look so nice on you..really! I love the tie on the brown one and the green one has that intricate looking middle. Was that hard to do? And thank you for visiting me the other day. Enjoy your knitting and sewing weekend...that's my plan too.

Very cute! I especially love the green one, but the brown would be so cute with jeans or skirts! Maybe this northern girl needs to learn to knit, it was 19 degrees this morning.

Oooh, I love the cardigan! Beautiful. This is far too tempting...

I think the Simple Knitted Bodice looks great. I think it's too tight on the pattern model, who isn't built like a real person but is ultra skinny. It's very flattering on you, even though it isn't skin tight. I am inspired to try making it now.

Hey, hey! Thay both look great!!!

I love them both but the brown one is my favorite!

holy moly -- those are great! You totally get it. I know knitting was a pain at first, but wowza!

You knitting machine! They look fantabulous. Off to check out the pattern for the first one...

well done my dear!

Great job! You are a knitting Nelly!! I love the tied cardigan.

Looks great!!! my favorite is the first one =) Greetings from México!!!
