everyday beauty :: day 1
This is one of my favorite spots in my house. I can't help but feel good when I look at the pattern of the dappled sunlight filtering though the wooden shade and linen curtains. This scene only happens for a little while, so I have to capture it while I can. When I see those white pillows, I think "comfort". Really, I just love this spot. To me, it is beautiful. - it is a bit of "everyday beauty" that I often take for granted.
This week, I am challenging myself to find the everyday beauty all around me. I know it's there, but all too often I'm too busy to take notice. Every day I'll be posting photos of things that are beautiful to me. It may be a corner of my home, a blooming flower in the garden, or a smile on my kiddo's face - anything goes. It's been about 6 months since I gave myself a photo challenge, so I think it's time. I invite you to play along too, if you wish. Go ahead, look for the everyday beauty, I'm sure it'll put a smile on your face :)

this sounds like a great project... I'm looking forward to your entries. :)

My pics may make you laugh! Presently, my sewing room is my living/dining room. And it often looks trashed! I do clean it up once in a while but you would never know it within 24 hours. I will post pics of before and after. HA!

love your cozy little corner!
i, too, have been thinking a lot about trying to find the "chic" in every day life and to "stop and smell the roses" so to speak. that was sort of the reason i started my blog and how it was named, but i seem to have lost my way a bit by getting caught up in the "every day" craziness.
i love your challenge idea! i've been trying to think of a good challenge to start, but while i work on one, i think i'll take a stab at yours - sounds like fun and a great reminder to appreciate the everyday beauty!

That is a beautiful spot. I love the few spots that the light is beautiful for a few moments each day.
Good for you on the photo challenge! I would play but all week I won't be home while it's light out. Boo.

that is a great idea---althought, it is hard to find beauty in the mounting pile of laundry and the dirty dishes in the sink!

I love the idea of finding a little piece of beauty everyday - very positive thing to do ....

I love your "beautiful spot." My house is small and FULL, and I long for a comfy corner to relax, read, knit, or whatever. My favorite place for now is on our patio swing with a glass of iced tea, sun shining, and whatever project on my lap. But that only works when the weather is cooperative, and those days are extremely few and far between this time of year in Michigan. So, maybe I'll try to set up a cozy spot in front of the LR fireplace with my back to the rest of the over-furnished house. Ahhhhhh.
