With an overwhelming majority, the aqua purse won! Thanks for all your input. I should have listened to my gut - that was the bag I intended to make available in the first place, but then I started playing around, resulting in the orange one. I do plan to revisit the design of the orange one, but in a larger size. It really is a cute bag, but too small for me. I should have used a tripod to take photos of the two bags because in the photos I posted, the aqua one looks larger, but in reality both bags are about the same size. The orange one was just slouchier and taken from a slightly farther position.
As you can see, I whipped up another one. This one is a smidge larger (I think I have a problem with small bags). I took a photo with it on my shoulder so you can get a good idea of the real size.
Do you recognize the fabric? That's the fabric I designed and had printed at Spoonflower. I had forgotten all about it - if I had remembered it, I would have used it in my quilt. I love it! I lined it with a brown & white Sis Boom print. I think I'll go transfer all my purse stuff now (leaving some stuff out, of course):)
Over the weekend I'll make another one and take photos for the tutorial. Hopefully I'll have the pattern ready for next week. Sound good? One more thing, anybody have a good name for the bag? I'm terrible at naming things. If you have any suggestions, let me know.
***The pattern is ready, the Phoebe Bag! You can download it from the right sidebar under Free Patterns or right here****

I LOVE that fabric. Very nice work! I think it would make a great sundress.

I can't wait for the pattern, this is exactly what I had in mind for my new handbag, and have my fabric ready (if I bought enough that is!)I will ponder a name but nothing witty coming to mind right now all I have is winning aqua hobo.

love the photo with the camera! and the bag too of course; the fabric is lovely, you are so clever. Not sure if it's appropriate but my first thought for a name was "Simply Sassy".....has a nice sounc to it.

Great fabrics! I also like the aqua purse, but since I rarely have my finger on the pulse of America, I let my 17 year old vote.
I've tried to carry smaller purses, thinking I would be forced to carry less junk, but it never seems to work out very well for me. My kids are WAY passed the diaper bag stage, too.

I didn't get a chance to vote! Both bags are fab but I would have voted for the orange, more rectangular one.....

OMG!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I LOVE YOUR FABRIC!!! I think you should call this bag the Spoonflower Bag (unless that breaks some copyright law, or something...). It's precious, I can hardly wait to make one!

I like the idea Kerry had of naming it "Simple Sassy" You did such a great job designing your own fabric, love the bold flowers! I enjoy seeing peoples designs on "Spoonflower".

I thought that was your spoonflower fabric! I love the purse in that fabric. No idea for names, I am not good at naming things either.

You make the best bags. I am currently using one I bought from your shop. I have to tell you I get so many compliments on it. I think when I get a little better at sewing I will get the pattern and try to make one myself! Love your flower fabric.
