...and stitching some more. Yes, I've been stitching. I finally got my hands on the Alabama Stitch book and immediately started the bloomers skirt. It's been my obsession this week. I initially resisted buying this book because I thought the projects were too fussy with all that hand sewing. Like I have time for that? Yeah, this is the same attitude that I used to have about knitting...and you know where I am on that subject! It turns out that I really like hand sewing, which should be no surprise considering that hand sewing the binding on a quilt is one of my favorite parts of the process.
I'm really looking forward to finishing this skirt so that I can wear it. I'm currently on my 4th panel, but I still need to cut out the top layer, then construct the skirt. From what I've heard, this skirt is supposedly very comfortable. I sure hope so because I already have another one planned, with my own stencil design. Another crazy obsession had begun...
