As you can see, I'm no longer on a blogging break. That sure didn't last long! Just in case anyone was wondering, my maternity leave will be over at the end of this week. I'll be back at work bright and early Monday morning. I'll fortunately be easing back into it with half days for a few weeks due to our childcare situation. Once school starts and our sitter starts taking the kids I'll be back at full time. In all honesty, I'm ready. I'm not ready to be separated from Ava, but I am ready for my old routine. I'm also ready for adult interaction. I miss my friends!
Speaking of Ava, she's doing great. We've been having to work with her on taking a bottle. Imagine that - for the first 2.5 weeks of her life we couldn't get her to take the breast, and now she doesn't want a bottle. She'll only take about an ounce of milk at a time, but it's enough to keep her satisfied. She doesn't really suck on the nipple, but chews on it. All my kids went through this, so I blame my boobs.
Here are her new very expensive shoes. I've never owned shoes so expensive. These are supposed to turn her feet the right direction (positional club foot), but the little stinker manages to kick them off. Don't ask me how she does it. I tighten these things so tight that I'm afraid I'm cutting off her circulation!
Lily is all ready for school to start, my big kindergartner! We bought her school supplies the other day and she has been wearing her packed back pack around the house ever since (see there she is still in her PJ's). Some days she's real excited, but other days she is riddled with anxiety. I'm sure she'll do fine, as long as she can relax.
Alex, well, he's Alex. That boy is all over the place. He is speaking more and more and constantly cracks me up with the things he says. I'm afraid I have a comedian on my hands. I don't know what I'm going to do with that boy! In the picture above he's putting a big glob of brown play dough on Ava's head.
I never did get around to a vacation post, but we did have a good time. I won't bore you with the details, but here we are, our first family picture with the gulf breeze blowing our hair. I can't wait to go back next year. Oh, just in case you're wondering, we don't normally go around wearing matching clothes. We were waiting to have our pictures taken on the beach with a photographer.
