And then there were 10. I think I need to set up a "skirts" category, not that I'm all that great at keeping up with choosing a category for my posts. Anyway, here are the latest, version 9 and 10. I ended up making these weekend before last, right after I made the last batch. After my disappointing outcome with those, I decided to go back to the basics and just make plain old a-line skirts. I like these alright, though the white linen one isn't all that great. It is amazing how different fabrics make up the same garment so differently. Because the linen ravels so badly and I don't have a serger, I decided to use french seams, which made the skirt a bit too small. And because I couldn't get the waistband completely on the bias, it's kind of wonky. I thought it wouldn't matter all that much because I'll always wear a top untucked, but the wonkiness still shows through. Live and learn. I may end up disassembling that one for some other use down the road.
I told myself after these last two skirts that there would be no more for a while. And then I ordered the Cute Skirts pattern by Favorite Things. So yes, there will be more skirts to come. I really didn't need that pattern, like I don't have enough. It seems like a really simple skirt to make, so I'm sure you'll see my version in the near future.
