My big studio re-org is still in progress. Unfortunately, I think it will be in this state for a while. My problem is that I've gotten it to a place where I'm satisfied because it is functional, though it isn't "finished". Honestly, I'm perfectly happy the way it is. I really don't need neatly folded stacks of fabric because I'll end up messing it up the first time I pull anything from it.
See, this is my real fabric stash. These are the fabrics that I like to play with. The pretty, "good" stuff. Yes, I have way more fabric than that, but those are mostly apparel fabrics, home dec fabrics, ugly hand-me-down fabrics, and old home dec projects that I can't bear to throw away because I just might want to use that dust ruffle fabric one day. I choose not to look at those, they're behind curtain #3.
I love my new work table configuration, love, love, love it! With the swivel of my chair I can sew on Richelle, then on el cheapo (currently sitting on the floor under the table). Two machines set up in working order, ready to go!!! I also love that I can cut, pin, or do whatever at the side table, then swivel around to the sewing machine. I think this "L" set up is more cozy. Have I mentioned how much I love it?
I now have more stuff hung on the walls. These Dresden Plates were made by my grandmother years ago. The embroidery hoop method is the perfect way to display them.
My inspiration boards have been reworked. The board to the left is filled with artwork from Lily, cards made from friends, as well as other little lovelies. The board on the right is reserved for magazine/catalog tear outs.
I have a little sitting area, which will mostly be covered in current/future projects (that I had to move to take this pic - who am I kidding?). Yes, more embroidery hoops.
Okay, that's all the pretty. I'm not showing the rest!!
