No sewing Sunday night. Why? Within seconds of sewing on my newly fixed sewing machine it broke again. Same problem as before. I guess it wasn't fixed afterall. Was I mad? Fuming!!! Sure, I could have gone up to my clean sewing room to sew on Richelle, but it was a good TV night, and there is no TV in there. So, I worked on a new pattern, then folded some laundry. Not exactly what I had in mind for the evening. Oh well. Until I get my machine back, maybe I can finish up a few knitting ufo's.

So far, there hasn't been much relaxing, but that's okay. I'm feeling better anyway. I've been decluttering and cleaning all weekend. That always makes me feel better.
My big project was my sewing room. Oh boy, that was a mess! I'm so happy to have a neat, clean space. Did I ever get rid of some stuff!! Two garbage bags of trash and two garbage bags of stuff to donate. I've decided that I do NOT need anything else to come into this room until I've used up some of what I have. Seriously.
Look at these neat organized shelves! This makes me sooo happy. The shelves to the left is where I store all my non-craft fabric - stuff I use for clothing mostly and home dec. I previously had all the fabric stored in rolls. It supposedly takes up less room that way, but I'm not so sure. I pulled it all down and folded it. I have it organized by purpose. I didn't realize I had so many knits. I guess I had better check this out, it might come in handy.
Now that everything is neat and tidy in here, the new ideas are flowing. I might even get to sew tonight (folding laundry can wait)!!

I am so happy that this week is over. Sorry for my lack of posting, but life at the moment has been a bit much. I feel like I'm behind on everything. My house needs cleaning, my clothes need washing, and my list of to-do projects (not for fun) is growing to a level that's making me feel terribly overwhelmed. And to top it all off, my usual quiet, non-demanding job has been stressful as of late. Hate that. So, instead of tending to the things that need tending too, I've been vegging out in the evenings with my knitting, attempting to knit away the stress. Conversely, because I've been ignoring my duties, it's been bringing on more stress. I don't handle stress well. I think I need a day off!! Good thing the weekend is here :-)
Tonight I plan to unwind, make homemade pizza, a big salad, and open a bottle of wine. My plans for the weekend are slow and mellow (fingers crossed). Happy weekend, friends!!

Guess what? I've been feeling the urge to sew! I have a few ideas rolling around my head that I'd like to try out and I'm in desperate (well, maybe not exactly desperate) need of a new fall bag. This weekend I WILL sew, - pinkie swear ;-)

Remember when I used to sew things? Since my sewing machine went into the shop, I haven't sewn a stitch. I've had my machine back for weeks now, but I have yet to see if it even works now. What happened? Well my friends, yarn happened. I am smitten with knitting.
Today I cast on the Somewhat Cowl. Never mind that I still have 3 WIP's near completion. I have yet to add the neck ribbing back on Ms. Marigold, and I'm still working away on the sleeves of my Cavern Cardigan. I've decided that I don't like knitting with DPN's. I'm not very good at it.
I had better get used to them because I have more sleeves to knit on my Cropped Cardigan. Did I not mention that one? It was a super fast knit - I got the body worked up in a week. I'm not too happy with the fit. It's a bit small, but in looking at the other projects on Ravelry, this may be how it is supposed to fit. I'm also not happy with the edge, which curls under a bit. I'm thinking about picking up the stitches and knitting some sort of edging, I don't know. I'm not all that invested in it, so it doesn't really matter. I do love this pattern (especially the fast part), so I plan to make it again.
I must confess that I was unable to stay away from that sale at my LYS last week - this yarn just jumped into my bag, oops. Yes, I'm smitten.

I'll admit it, I'm terrible at meme's. I apologize if you've tagged me or given me an award and I never responded because really, I suck at them. I'm very grateful that you think of me, but I'm not the best at playing along. Last week both Blayne and Elliebelle tagged me for the 6 random things meme. It's been a while since I've done anything like this, so I decided to play along.

The photo above, that's our latest fall decoration/craft project. I bought a bunch of wooden acorns and let the kids go to town. They painted them with watercolor paints, which I know will wash off if they get wet, but so what? I don't think that really matters. The key is that it was easy to clean up after this project and all the paint washed out. There are still some unfinished ones that I'd like to play with - with my own non kid friendly paints. Fun stuff!
Oh, I decided to leave the pattern drawing open for a couple of more days, probably until Wednesday, okay? Now I'm off to tackle the laundry - washing and folding, that is.

I feel like this pattern has taken forever to put together (all due to my own procrastination), but it's FINALLY ready. YAY!! The Short & Sassy Pleated Handbag is ready for purchase.

I've been resisting, but I couldn't help it any longer. The yarn stashing has begun. My LYS (local yarn store for you non-knitters) was having a sale, a sale I couldn't resist. Yikes - this is some yummy stuff!! Oh boy, I'm in trouble now - like I need another thing to stash. Shhh, don't tell Matt, not that he'd know what a yarn stash was anyway, but let's just keep this between me and you, okay?

Soccer practice has begun. I usually leave all things sports related to Matt, but because the weather was so lovely today, I decided that the whole family should tag along.
This little guy wasn't so thrilled. I'm sure he would have rather been playing instead of watching his big sister.
Coach Daddy. Matt isn't coaching her team this year, but he's happy to help out. I don't think he has the ability to watch from the sidelines.
Of course, I brought along my knitting.

Not much got accomplished this weekend other than knitting. The weather was kind of yucky, so what better to do than sit on the sofa and knit?
I was nearing the end of Ms. Marigold, so I was a woman obsessed. I tend to get that way at the beginning and end of of a project.
Ms. Marigold got finished, but I'm not completely happy with it. The torso is a little long, which isn't a biggie, but the ribbing around the neck is too loose. This was my first time picking up stitches, and I think I picked up too many. Oh well, this is all a learning process, right?
After I took those pictures it occurred to me that I could rip the neck ribbing off and knit it again. I wish I had thought of that before I had woven in all the ends! It took me a while, but that's exactly what I did. So, I guess Ms. Marigold isn't finished after all.
That's okay, I have a new knitting companion to share the sofa with. That's my girl!!
