The first time I laid eyes on this pillow, I was in love. Then I looked at the price tag. Um, $88 per pillow doesn't fit into my budget, so I filed the idea away to the back of my mind.
With the arrival of spring, I started thinking about sprucing up my living room. At first, I had the grand idea of slip-covering my sofa, but realistically, that isn't going to happen any time soon. So, I decided to work with my red sofa and make some new throw pillows with the goal of adding pops of color. I went to the fabric store and picked out a multi colored all over print, a blue and linen-ish ikat type fabric along with an orange and linen-ish print. All three looked great together, but I needed one more, something different. My first thought was to embroider some type of flower on linen, but then those anthro pillows popped back into my head. Of course!
It was all I could think about. I devoted my weekend to cutting, ironing, and quilting these pillows. I love them. My only complaint is that the heat-n-bond lite made them a little stiff, but I don't care so much. It's all about the looks :) After having made these pillows, I see why they're $88. I'd probably charge more!! I never did get around to making the "easy" pillows, but they're next.
If you celebrate, I hope you had a nice Easter. Ours was pretty nice. We had a double celebration because today was Matt's 39th birthday. Happy Birthday, Matt. I love you!!
