The caboose of our family birthday train has pulled into the station today *toot toot*. It's tough waiting your turn when within 2 months your dad, little sister, mom, and big sister all have birthdays. It seems like forever before your day will come, especially when you're waiting to turn 6. Well, the wait is over. It is finally his turn, his special day. Today Alex is 6!!!

Oh Alex, my sweet blue eyed boy. You're artistic, smart, sneaky, and a big goof-ball all rolled into one - a perfect 6 yr old boy combination. You've always made me laugh, but that goof-ball part has really come out this past year. Where in the world do you come up with that stuff? And how do you manage to leave a dirt ring around the tub every single night?

This has been such a big year for you - you started school, you made new friends, you played sports, and you learned to read. By far, the biggest change I've seen lately has been in your artistic ability. I love that you could sit and draw for hours (I don't so much love how agitated you get if I disturb you by asking you to eat dinner, but we'll work on that). Pretty soon I'm going to run out of storage room for all your beautiful creations!

Happy Birthday, Alex. I love you! I hope all your birthday wishes come true!!!
For a little blast from the past, here is my birthday post for him half his life ago. Finding treasures in my archives like this make me happy I've kept up with my blog for as long as I have.
