One of the benefits of taking time off to refocus was that by Sunday afternoon, I was totally in the mood to make a bag. Like, I had to make one right.that.second!! So I did.
I must admit, it took me a few muslin versions before I got it right, but I like it. I'm not so sure I'm sold on attaching the straps on the outside of the bag, but it is fun to try something new.
Once I was satisfied with the green bag, I kept on going and made another version. A larger one because y'all know I'm a big bag girl. As cute as the first bag was, there's no way I could make do with that.
I like the bigger one, too. I think my stuff would fit in that. Apparently I was in a polka dot mood because both bags feature dots somewhere. Can y'all believe that those prints are from Hobby Lobby? Every so often they have something I can't do without. I happened to spot those prints as I was walking back from the thread section. Honestly, I had no intention of buying fabric that day (but it sure didn't take much to sway me). Pretty fabric gets me every time!!
***update - after looking at pictures of the larger one, I decided that those buttons looked like eyes and were a little distracting, so I added new ones with the grey dots (the lining of the bag). which do you prefer?
