Last Friday afternoon I got a text from Cathy asking if I wanted to go to a quilt shop on Saturday morning. It didn't take me long to decide the answer to that question, I think I could manage! This particular shop is new to us. It is out in the middle of nowhere, down a long winding road. Cathy found it and told me that she went three times the first week she discovered it.
Most of my weekends lately are spent beached on the sofa, so it was especially nice to get out on a beautiful day to visit with a friend. The quilt shop was charming. It is a little rustic cypress cabin filled with fabric. We both managed to find a few things, she was actually buying with a purpose, I was buying for the heck of it.
When we got back to Cathy’s house I found out why she has been three times before. The owner of the shop had received a whole bunch of fabric from a former drapery workroom. A mish mash of notions and old remnants. The shop owner offered it to Cathy, and she had been going through it and wanted to share with me. How lucky! Oh my, there were some jewels in there. I’ll let these vintage goodies speak for themselves…
If you haven't been to Cathy's, hop on over - she made quite an announcement. I couldn't be more proud of her!!
