A few weeks ago Kara tagged me. It's been ages since I've played along with one of these, so I thought what the heck. Kara's questions sure made me think, that's for sure. Unfortunately, they also made me realize even more how boring I am, ha ha!
1. What is your favorite crafty project that you have done?
Probably my first quilt. I shocked myself that I was actually able to make one. In my mind, quilts were always such grand things that were beyond my skill level.
2. What are you most proud of?
My kids. I look at those little people and can hardly believe that I made them. They're my favorite people to be around, even if they do sometimes drive me batty.
3. If you had to choose a different first name for yourself, what would it be?
Gosh, I don't know. I probably thought about this when I was a kid, but I'm pretty happy with the name I was given. I suppose any name fantasies I ever had were lived out in naming my 3 girls. In naming Cecilia, I made Matt do it. I was fresh out of ideas.
4. Guiltiest pleasure: GO!
Bravo TV. I'm a Bravo junkie. Bravo + a glass of wine + some hand work = heaven.
5. If you were to write a memoir of your life, what would the title be?
Striving for Normalcy
6. Tell me what you want, what you really, really want! (you may interpret that any way that you see fit)
More time. There aren't enough hours in the day to do what I'd like to accomplish. Of course, and hour or two of that extra time would be needed for a nap.
7. What can't you live without?
Color. Bold, bright color. I've tried toning it down, but I always gravitate back to bold color. I now choose to embrace it, even if I do wear lots of black. Black looks good with pops of color!
8. What event/person/fill-in-the-blank has changed your life more than any other?
I suppose the obvious answers are getting married and having kids. Matt and the kids impact every decision I make.
Other that those life changing events, I think starting my blog was pretty signifigant. It opened up a world to me that I never knew existed (and made me feel like I wasn't such an oddball). It has created opportunity, introduced me to friends, and helped me know myself better. As of now my poor little blog is limping along, but I'm not giving it up. I wouldn't be the person I am today without it.
9. Team Edward or Jacob?
I'm sorry to disappoint on this one, but I've neither read nor seen any of the Twilight series.
10. What are your top five favorite songs of all time?
This question made me realize that I don't have all that great of a connection with songs. Sure, I like music, I enjoy listening to it, but there are no songs that are all that profound to me. I associate some songs with life events, but I don't usually remember that until I hear the song. Calling these songs the 'top five favorite of all time' is a bit strong in my case. My list of 5 are the first songs that popped into my head, and I obviously don't listen all that closely to the lyrics!
Creep, Radio Head
Killing me Softly, Roberta Flack
Eat for two, 10000 Maniacs
Holiday, Madonna
Kiss, Prince
The last two make me move and sing every time I hear them. I can't help it.
11. Share a word that expresses how you view, or want to live, 2012.
Acceptance. No more worrying about what's to come or fretting about what's already happened. My life is too full and precious to waste any energy on that. For a long time I was stuck on "when xyz happens, I'll ....". I finally realized that xyz may never happen, so I had better accept the situation I'm in and make the most of it, whether that be my plump post-pregnancy body, my too-small house, or lack of free time. It is what it is, I'm enjoying it!!
I'm sure I'm supposed to tag some more people and come up with my own questions, but I'm tired. It took me long enough to answer these questions here!

In other random news, last week I ran into Amy Butler in the French Quarter. Yes, THE Amy Butler. She was just walking on the street, as was I. I died! I was so flustered, I could hardly say my name. It was a blur, but Matt assures me that we had a conversation. I do remember that she was very polite and I told her that I love her fabric. I'm a goof!
