I'm not so into the mushy, romantic side of Valentine's Day, but showing my little family how much I love them I'm all for.

Today was spent at home with a sick boy (nasty strep), but that gave me more time to work in the kitchen on our family Valentine's meal. And what a gorgeous day it was. I would have gladly spent it at home, working in the kitchen, looking out the window than in the office. I had the back door open with a breeze blowing in - just perfect. I wish I had taken a photo of our meal before we devoured it, but we were hungry!

We had baked chicken, roasted butternut squash, mashed garlic cauliflower, sauteed green beans, and spinach & onion salad. It was sooo good! And the piece de resistance - heart shaped brownies with vanilla ice cream :) Ava requested heart shaped food, so brownies it was. It was a lot of work preparing such a meal, but honestly, that's when I'm in my element.
I hope you all had a lovely Valentine's Day!
