How about a little update? Now that I know you don’t mind hearing about my family, I thought I’d catch you up on what’s been happening this week....

I’m declaring it, spring has sprung! The weather has been quite iffy lately, but definitely spring-like. This weekend we had some wonderful weather. I’ve been leaving the patio door open for little Miss to go in and out as she pleases. Sidewalk chalk has been a hit. I’ll admit it, I like coloring the squares of the patio. She likes dipping various items into the rain water bucket (better than the toilet!).

Tutus have been the clothing of choice lately. Ava and her little friend keept pulling them out and making up dances for us. Eventually, Ceci had to join in.

On Tuesday Lily competed in the regional science fair. We had to set up her project on Monday evening at LSU. We thought it was a good idea to take all the kids to eat at our favortie college hangout, The Chimes. Eh, I think we'll stick to making that our date place (thank goodness the place was empty on a Monday night!). Matt had to show them his name on a plaque, but we didn't go into too much detail about how he achieved that honor.
The science fair itself was a new experience for us. We really didn’t know what to expect. Matt and I both took the day off from work to be with her, not that we were really able to be with her.

There was a lot of down time. While all the judging was taking place (pretty much ALL day long), Matt and I hung out in the newly renovated student union and strolled through campus (paper grading for him, knitting for me). It was such a gorgeous day. Being there sure brought back memories. But now I feel old.
Lily was a trooper. Poor thing was in pain most of the day because she got her spacers for braces the day before. She said talking hurt and no less than 7 judges interviewed her.

I think it was all worth it - she placed 4th in her category. Go Lily!

And now she has her braces. Could these kids stop growing up already?
